Welcome to Expansin Gene Family Database

Expansins are the cell wall protein. The gene family of expansins has two main groups: Alpha Expansins and Beta Expasins and contains two subgroups: Expansin-Like Alpha and Expansin-Like Beta. These gene family members are important because they have played a critical role in the pH-dependent cell wall loosening without enzymatic reaction. Also, they possess an assignment such as fruit ripening, growth of plants and seed germination. Additionally, expansins are affected in abiotic-biotic stress conditions. We believe that the expansin gene family database is a precious source for researchers studying with the expansin gene family.
